Who We Serve
Our Ideal Clients are...
interested in so much more than just a set of documents. While the legal process hasn't changed over the years, the legal experience for clients certainly has and rightfully so. This is particularly true with estate planning. Gone are the days (or they should be gone) where attorneys are the gatekeepers of special forms that clients need and they charge a premium for granting access. At most, you might receive some vague education on what the attorney recommends regarding which forms or documents you might need and then they send you out to figure the rest on your own. Conversely, ultra wealthy families had access to personal family lawyers that just "took care of it" all. Today things are changing.
Nowadays, the internet makes access to the forms and template documents more than accessible. LegalZoom, Suze Orman's "trust kit," and websites like the Estate Planning Doctor can provide clients their own keys to the estate planning highway. This access is extraordinary and for the super savvy person who already has some background in the law this can be a viable option. For those less legally inclined or who simply don't have the time, there has to be a middle ground between cheap, knock-off versions of "estate planning" and what the super wealth receive with personal family lawyers. Right?
Here's how we think about it.

With the wide accessibility of technology, estate planning lawyers are in a unique position to offer the best of both worlds. A true community lawyer doesn't just provide faceless intake forms and process plans that are stale and "hopefully" effective. Nor do they only "see" those with the most dollar bills. Rather, there is a relationship that's there because the lawyer is part of the community. Care is demonstrated. Trust is earned. And the outcomes are integrated into the families that are served as well as the community. Families with young children understand how wonderful it feels to have a village behind you, supporting you, your spouse, and your child. This includes your immediate family members, but also the other parents you see at drop-off, your child's teachers at pick-up, and this should include those in the legal field. Estate planning lawyers are a critical part of this village and we want to do right by our community.
