Typically, child advocate attorneys work to protect the rights and best interests of minors in cases of divorce/separation, custody, adoption, neglect, abuse and juvenile court issues. They are often ordered to participate and appointed by a judge. However, there are scenarios where parents choose to hire a child advocate without a court order. These situations typically occur for couples who are negotiating their separation outside the courtroom through processes like mediation. Though our firm is not a full-service family law firm, we do offer limited scope counsel geared towards the protection and healthy development of children and their families.
